Dear Friends and Supporters,
Aloha and Hau'oli Makahiki Hou from The Hata Foundation!
We would first and foremost like to express our gratitude for your generous support and participation in all of the wonderful fundraising events held on behalf of Hawai'i's keikis and communities.
The outreach we achieved in 2010 far exceeded our expectations! The financial commitment and many in-kind contributions, from our loyal and growing group of friends and supporters, enabled us to support several local charities in achieving their goals advocating for and assisting at risk children and families to become engaged participants in society.
A special thank you to my cousin, Elizabeth Hata-Watanabe, who was instrumental in carpeting and providing commercial grade tiles for a total of five schools, community centers, and HUD housing projects. Another project involved the wonderful donors of talent and services that sent the children of two O'ahu shelters to school with fresh faces and well groomed haircuts in 2010. The women and children of these shelters also received self defense training that empowers them to deter domestic violence. All of these successes and the success of "Hawaii's Big Deal" Poker Tournament have raised the awareness of Hawai'i's charities and the stakes for charity fundraising. We gladly accept this challenge and look forward to exceeding our goals again this year with your continued support!
To launch the new year, we are partnering with the Legal Aid Society of Hawaii in celebrating the foundation's 2011 Stars of Hope! Please join us as sponsors and guests on Saturday, January 22, 2011, to honor four brilliant legal heroes dedicated to advocating for those who are under represented and two inspiring recipients of educational funds, committed to achieving bright futures with a little help from their friends.
Other 2011 highlights include:
Please join me in supporting The Hata Foundation and let's make 2011 another memorable year of successes that offers a consistent gift of Hope to all of Hawai'i's families.
Warmest Aloha to our beautiful ohana of Friends and Supporters!
